 How To Collect Your Sample!

1. Collect a Fresh Sample:

Signs of freshness include warmth, a darker colour and moist appearance.

Remember only a SMALL amount is needed for the test (15 grams approximately).

It is advisable to scrape away any slight crust from a fresh dung and take a sample from a more liquid portion of the pat. The sample should be no older than 12 hours.

Avoid collecting grass, hay, straw, stones, grit and soil with your sample.

Collect from the centre of a dung pile rather than the very bottom or very top.

2. How to Store and Post your Sample:

Use a clean secure container e.g. Zip Lock bag, of the appropriate size.

Please double layer the bag by putting a second bag over the first bag.

Label the container with the animal ID and your name.

Place the bag in an envelope and send the sample through your local post office with a stamp.

Put this address on the envelope:

Agridirect, Church St, Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan, H14 NW58
